Ranked within top 650 universities of the world KNU is the third oldest university of Ukraine. Currently its structure consists of 15 faculties and five institutes. During the Soviet era, Kiev State University was ranked among the top-three universities in the whole USSR. Even today it is ranked as the best university in Ukraine in many National rankings.

KNU was founded in 1834 by the Russian Tsar Nikolai I and it was named as “The Kiev Imperial University of Saint Vladimir”. Ever since the university has changed its name many times. TSNUK is commonly known as Kyiv University, it is also known as Shevchenko University but its official name remains “Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv” colloquially known as KNU. It is located in Kyiv which is the capital city of Ukraine. KNU is universally recognized as the most prestigious university of Ukraine because it is Ukraine’s largest national higher education institution.

 

The high status of the University is reinforced by the help of numerous academic achievements of its staff. During the years upon years long experience the university staff has a broad range of achievements which have been recognized by the highest of the authorities. Some of them are as under:

  • Some of the other facilities, include “Ukrainian Studies Centre”, “Geological and Zoological Museum”, “Museum of the University History”, “Interfaculty Museum of Linguistics” “Informatics Centre””Astronomical Observatory”, “publishing and reprographics unit” and “Maksymovych Academic Library”.

    Today, around 1,645 postgraduate students and 125 PhD students work at KNU for higher qualifications and the university has bilateral student exchange program agreements with over 250 foreign educational institutions.

    Accommodation provided by KNU are built on modern lines with comfortable halls of residence, state of the art computer clubs equipped with advanced technology, contemporary sports facilities, nice and clean cafeterias as well as modern dance halls.

    How to Enroll

    To get an Invitation Letter from any University of Ukraine we require the following documents:

    • Copy of International passport.
    • Copy of High School Certificates.
    • Copy of Bachelor Degree (if student is applying for Master’s degree).
    • Invitation Charges 280 US$.
    • Courier Charges 100 US$.

    You can transfer payment to us by bank transfer or directly in our office. After receiving the documents and payment. we shall send you the invitation letter, admission letter and visa support letter by courier.

    After getting invitation letter from '12 Consultants' students should contact the nearest Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate. Students can contact our local representative office also for visa information and they will assist students for their visa. Student should apply to Ukrainian Embassy with the following documents:

    • Original Invitation letter
    • Original international passport (valid for one year)
    • Higher Secondary School certificate (translated into Ukrainian language)
    • Birth Certificate (translated into Ukrainian language)
    • Medical Certificate showing absence of Aids/HIV (translated into Ukrainian language) • Medical Certificate showing physical and mental fitness (translated into Ukrainian language)
    • 8 Passport size Photos.
    • Bank Statement
    • Police Certificate (Character Clearance Certificate)
    • Air Ticket Reservation.
    • Travel Insurance.

    After getting visa from Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate, students should inform us about his/her flight details with date and arrival time. One of our representatives shall receive the student at the airport. In case student will not inform us about his/her arrival, he/she shall be deported back to homeland.

    University Accomodation & Hostel ​

    Hostels & Accommodation Sumy State University provides accommodation for International students in university hostels. In total, SSU has 6 dormitories, in which 3 are specifically for International students. Foreign students live in hostels No 2, 5, and 6. Facilities Provided in Sumy State University Hostels:

  • University provides separate hostels for female students, that distinguishes these hostels best among other European universities.
  • Rooms are centrally heated.
  • These hostels offer all students everything they need for good living: a peaceful, healthy, and quiet environment for studying.
  • Rooms for self-studying furnished with desks and chairs. Document photocopy & printing service is available.
  • Individual Laundry, gym, billiard rooms are available in every hostel.
  • Canteens that offers cooked dishes according to the food preferences of foreign students. Moreover, the canteen is used for celebrating different religious and national holidays in the countries which the students come from.
  • Halal Food & Products are available for Muslim students.
  • High-Speed Internet connections are available in all hostels
  • There are isolation wards in the hostels that are used to provide rooms for sick students to prevent the spreading of infectious diseases. All University hostels have following spots on the walking distance;
