Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute

The National Technical University of Ukraine which is also known as “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” or as abbreviated as NTUU is among the major universities located in Kyiv, Ukraine. In January 2012 Webometrics Ranking KPI made it to the top 1,000 education institutions by taking 957th place out of 20,300 nominated universities.

The current building of Kiev Polytechnic Institute was built in 1902 however the institute was found in 1898 by Emperor Alexander II. Before this building, the institute was being run on a rented building in Vorovsky Street for almost 4 years with 4 departments including Civil Engineering, Agricultural, Chemical and Mechanical. The first time the institute registered and enrolled 360 students who were groomed by some of the leading scientists of Russia. They also played an important role in institute’s organizational growth with their scientific knowledge. The scientists include Kliment Arkadyevich Timiryazev, Dmitri Mendeleev as well as Nikolai Zhukovsky.

In the year 1930, a major institute was established on the basis of factory of KPI and the architectural faculty of Kyiv Art Institute i.e. “Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA)”

 

  • KPI has two campuses with the central campus being located in Kyiv, and the other one is located in town of Slavutych. The one in Kyiv is located near the city center in a park which is named after the university. In this campus approximately 9,000 of non-Kyivite students are housed in 21 dormitories, 3 of them are dedicated for married students only. The Kyiv Politechnic institute has an outpatient medical department for employers and as well as for students.

  • An Assembly Hall with the capacity of 1,750 seats inaugurated in August 1984.
  • Numerous sport facilities including training grounds, football fields and various courts.
  • 70% of the total KPI teachers have advanced scientific degrees. Among them are Academicians & Corresponding Members of the UAS (Ukrainian Academy of Sciences), Professors, and Merited Scientists. The main language of instruction is principally Ukrainian, however Russian and English is also available.

    The Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) has overseas economic relations with 45 of the overseas partner institutions from 12 different countries of the world. As a result 29 agreements and 17 contracts have  been concluded in total whereas 77 protocols have also been signed: subsequently, Kyiv Polytechnic Institute received the certificate as a “Participant of Foreign Economic Relations”.

    How to Enroll

    To get an Invitation Letter from any University of Ukraine we require the following documents:

    • Copy of International passport.
    • Copy of High School Certificates.
    • Copy of Bachelor Degree (if student is applying for Master’s degree).
    • Invitation Charges 280 US$.
    • Courier Charges 100 US$.

    You can transfer payment to us by bank transfer or directly in our office. After receiving the documents and payment. we shall send you the invitation letter, admission letter and visa support letter by courier.

    After getting invitation letter from '12 Consultants' students should contact the nearest Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate. Students can contact our local representative office also for visa information and they will assist students for their visa. Student should apply to Ukrainian Embassy with the following documents:

    • Original Invitation letter
    • Original international passport (valid for one year)
    • Higher Secondary School certificate (translated into Ukrainian language)
    • Birth Certificate (translated into Ukrainian language)
    • Medical Certificate showing absence of Aids/HIV (translated into Ukrainian language) • Medical Certificate showing physical and mental fitness (translated into Ukrainian language)
    • 8 Passport size Photos.
    • Bank Statement
    • Police Certificate (Character Clearance Certificate)
    • Air Ticket Reservation.
    • Travel Insurance.

    After getting visa from Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate, students should inform us about his/her flight details with date and arrival time. One of our representatives shall receive the student at the airport. In case student will not inform us about his/her arrival, he/she shall be deported back to homeland.

    Kyiv National Economic University provides accommodation for international students in university hostels. In total, KNEU has 5 dormitories, of which 2 are specifically for international students.

    Foreign students live in hostels No 2 and 6.
