Bukovinian State Medical University
BSMU as written in Ukrainian БДМУ is the abbreviation of “Bukovinian State Medical University”. It is one of the biggest higher educational institution in Chernivtsi. It is a modern multi-tiered educational institution of the Level IV accreditation. The history of Bukovyna is associated with the rectors of the BSMU – the renowned professors D.S.Lovlia, M.B.Mankovskiy, M.M.Kovaliov, O.D.Yukhimets, V.K.Patratiy, V.P.Pishak, T.M.Boychuk.
Started as Kyiv Productive Medical Institute from the year 1931–1936, it was later called 2nd Kyiv State Medical Institute from the year 1936–1944. Later it turned its status and title to Chernivtsi Medical Institute during the years 1944–1997. In the year 1997 it changed its status to Bukovinian State Medical Academy. In the year 2005 BSMU received the status of Medical University and to this date since 2005 it is called “Bukovinian State Medical University”.
This is a short history of the foundation and progress of a newly formed higher school in the year 1931 to its transformation into the Bukovinian State Medical University
The history of Bukovyna is associated with the rectors of the BSMU – the renowned professors D.S.Lovlia, M.B.Mankovskiy, M.M.Kovaliov, O.D.Yukhimets, V.K.Patratiy, V.P.Pishak, T.M.Boychuk.
The medical coaching staff of BSMU includes 75 Doctors of Medical Science as well as 321 Candidates of Medical Science. One of them is a Corresponding Member of Ukrainian Academy of Pedagogical Science, 8 of them are Honored Doctors of Ukraine, 2 are Honored Scientists, 2 Honored Educationalists of Ukraine, 66 Professors and 203 Associate Professors. Out of the total members, 166 have been conferred the highest doctor’s grade, 54 of them achieved the first grade, 48 gained the second grade whereas, 32 staff members from clinical departments of Bukovinian State Medical University are regional out-of-staff members & consultants in the Health Department of Chernivtsi Regional State Authority.

To get an Invitation Letter from any University of Ukraine we require the following documents:
- Copy of International passport.
- Copy of High School Certificates.
- Copy of Bachelor Degree (if student is applying for Master’s degree).
- Invitation Charges 280 US$.
- Courier Charges 100 US$.
You can transfer payment to us by bank transfer or directly in our office. After receiving the documents and payment. we shall send you the invitation letter, admission letter and visa support letter by courier.
After getting invitation letter from '12 Consultants' students should contact the nearest Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate. Students can contact our local representative office also for visa information and they will assist students for their visa. Student should apply to Ukrainian Embassy with the following documents:
- Original Invitation letter
- Original international passport (valid for one year)
- Higher Secondary School certificate (translated into Ukrainian language)
- Birth Certificate (translated into Ukrainian language)
- Medical Certificate showing absence of Aids/HIV (translated into Ukrainian language) • Medical Certificate showing physical and mental fitness (translated into Ukrainian language)
- 8 Passport size Photos.
- Bank Statement
- Police Certificate (Character Clearance Certificate)
- Air Ticket Reservation.
- Travel Insurance.
After getting visa from Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate, students should inform us about his/her flight details with date and arrival time. One of our representatives shall receive the student at the airport. In case student will not inform us about his/her arrival, he/she shall be deported back to homeland.
Bukovinian State Medical University Hostel
Hostels & Accommodation Bukovinian State Medical University provides accommodation for International students in university hostels. In total, BSMU has 6 dormitories, in which 3 are specifically for International students. Foreign students live in hostels No 2, 5, and 6.
