Poltava Medical and Dental University (UMSA)

Poltava State Medical and Dental University also known as Ukrainian Medical and Stomatological Academy (UMSA) is state-run medical & dental school in Ukraine. UMSA is located in the city of Poltova which is one of the best and the oldest cities of Ukraine. The city of just 350,000 people is located at the center of Ukraine and has a lot to offer to its residents and visitors with the best of weather as well.

PSMU started as an academy initiated its operations in the year 1921 with odonatological faculty of Kharkiv Medical Academy. In 1967, the Institute was moved to Poltava and renamed after the city and became famous as “Poltava State Medical University”. In the year 1994, Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy gained the highest level of accreditation – the IV.

At present, there are 3615 students enrolled at PSMU and 1400 of them are international students from 42 different countries

The International Students usually come from U.K, Ireland, USA, Mexico, Ukraine’s neighboring countries like Armenia, Romania, Turkmenistan and Russia, Several European Countries, Pakistan, India, other regions of Asia, African and middle eastern countries. PSMU teaches its specialists in 6 faculties and in 1 preparatory department. Specialists are trained in toxicology, pediatrics (six years each), oral surgery, pharmacology (five years each), nursing (two to three years) and orthopedic dentistry (two years).

PSMU consists of 16 buildings, including 5 academic buildings, 4 dormitories, numerous apartments, a vivarium, hangars, 1 library, several reading rooms, an enormous sports complex, 1 dining room, 1 peaceful café as well as a health & sports camp.

 

How to get Admission in Poltava Medical and Dental University

To get an Invitation Letter from any University of Ukraine we require the following documents:

  • Copy of International passport.
  • Copy of High School Certificates.
  • Copy of Bachelor Degree (if student is applying for Master’s degree).
  • Invitation Charges 280 US$.
  • Courier Charges 100 US$.

You can transfer payment to us by bank transfer or directly in our office. After receiving the documents and payment. we shall send you the invitation letter, admission letter and visa support letter by courier.

After getting invitation letter from ’12 Consultants’ students should contact the nearest Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate. Students can contact our local representative office also for visa information and they will assist students for their visa. Student should apply to Ukrainian Embassy with the following documents:

  • Original Invitation letter
  • Original international passport (valid for one year)
  • Higher Secondary School certificate (translated into Ukrainian language)
  • Birth Certificate (translated into Ukrainian language)
  • Medical Certificate showing absence of Aids/HIV (translated into Ukrainian language) • Medical Certificate showing physical and mental fitness (translated into Ukrainian language)
  • 8 Passport size Photos.
  • Bank Statement
  • Police Certificate (Character Clearance Certificate)
  • Air Ticket Reservation.
  • Travel Insurance.

After getting visa from Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate, students should inform us about his/her flight details with date and arrival time. One of our representatives shall receive the student at the airport. In case student will not inform us about his/her arrival, he/she shall be deported back to homeland.

Hostels & Accommodation Poltava State Medical and Dental University (PSMU) provides accommodation for International students in university hostels. In total, PSMU has 6 dormitories, in which 3 are specifically for International students. Foreign students live in hostels No 2, 5, and 6. Facilities Provided in Poltava State Medical and Dental University (PSMU) Hostels:

  • University provides separate hostels for female students, that distinguishes these hostels best among other European universities.
  • Rooms are centrally heated.
  • These hostels offer all students everything they need for good living: a peaceful, healthy, and quiet environment for studying.
