Trakia University is located in the city of Stara Zagora and is a public university. It was founded in 1995.it provides education in local language but recently has started giving medical and veterinary courses in English language as well. It has affiliated hospitals where students can interact with patients to broaden their educational area.

It is obligatory for the average marks from the Diploma of secondary education in subjects that are included in the final scoring to be no less than 62% of the possible maximum of the grading system in the respective country.
Medical university- Pleven is a 45+ year-old institute founded in 1974 and it is one of the best independent/private medical institutes for local as well as international students. It was the first institute in Bulgaria to provide international students with medical education in English language in 1990s.
The duration of MBBS is 6 years with the tuition fee of 7500EUR/year.
Admission in specialty Medicine is based on the secondary school leaving certificate achievements in Biology and Chemistry (min requirement is 62% as average result in both subjects) and results of entry exams in Biology and Chemistry, held by MU-Pleven.
New Bulgarian university was founded in 1991 and is located in western district of Sofia. It is a private institute providing students with medical as well as other bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The University of Plovdiv Paisii Hilendarski was founded in 1962. It has students over 18000 and is one of the top universities in Bulgaria. It has 9 Faculties.
