Unlike some other EU countries, the student visa process for Hungary is very smooth & easy. Students can begin their visa application once they’ve been admitted to any Hungarian university, up to 45 days before their planned arrival to Hungary. Here you can find out the Hungarian study visa process for Pakistani students planning to study in Hungary.
STEP 1: Application Process & Required Documents?
To get an Admission Letter issued by the targeted Hungarian University, we require the following documents:
University Application Fee: Please note that almost every Hungarian university requires an application fee ranging between 100 and 150 EUR (non-refundable). After you’ve prepared the required documents for admission, you must pay the application fee in order to be admitted to the university.
Paying University Tuition Fee: If you are admitted (and you pass the online English/Science test required by some universities), you will get a Confirmation of Application around late July from our admission team with enrolment details, the refund policy, and an invoice to pay the University tuition fee for the first semester, accommodation charges & some other expenses.
Please note that applicants applying for a Masters’s degree will have an online Orientation Interview first, then if accepted, they receive the Confirmation of Application from the university & then a Visa Support Certificate and Letter.
STEP 2: How To Get Hungary Study VISA From Pakistan?
After getting a Visa Support Letter letter from 12 Consultants, students should contact the Consular Department of the Embassy of Hungary located in Islamabad.

Before visiting the Hungarian Embassy to apply for the study visa (or any other kind), a preliminary appointment booking is required (via email: reservation.isl@mfa.gov.hu) for each case except appeals.

Duration of Study Visa for Hungary?
Initially, the Hungarian Embassy will issue the long-term Residence Permit or Study Visa for 90 Days with the option to extend the visa according to the duration of your degree program. During this period, you can stay in Hungary or leave & return back. Upon the expiration of your visa, you can again extend it or convert it into a Work Permit after the completion of your degree.
Can you Appeal if your Hungary Visa is refused?
Yes. You are allowed to reapply in case of visa refusal. Visas can be refused mainly because the applicants are failed to prove that they are financially stable to sponsor their education in Hungary.
You can submit your appeal to the embassy after 8 calendar days of your rejection. The application fee for the Hungary Visa refusal from Pakistan is 32,067 PKR.
Visa Extension: After obtaining the Hungary Study Visa Type-D, you can enter Hungary only once and you can stay in Hungary only for 30 days (during this period you have to register your accommodation in Hungary). It means that you have to apply for the Visa extension at the Immigration office during the first 30 days starting from the day of arrival.

STEP 4: UNIVERSITY REGISTRATION & START OF CLASSES
After Arrival in Hungary, the student should submit the full package of documents and first-year expenses as written on the Admission Confirmation Letter. International student’s office staff will complete all the formalities so that you could start your classes in 4-5 working days. International Office will also extend the visa from the Immigration Office.
