Work in Netherlands as a student

Non-EU/EEA nationals, including Pakistani students, are allowed to work part-time in the Netherlands during their studies at Dutch Universities. For part-time work, students first receive a TWV work permit.

If students receive a TWV work permit, they are allowed to work up to 16 hours per week during semesters and 40 hours per week during semester breaks in June, July, and August. The minimum wage for students working part-time is 10-12 EUR/ hour.

    Work Permit – TWV

The application for TWV is submitted by the employer who wants to employ a foreign national at his company or form. To TXV, the employer places the application at the UWV (Employment Agency) by ensuring that he has first sought the employee for the said vacant position in the Netherlands and other European countries before hiring a non-EU national. However, no work permit is required if the host university offers the students an internship position or employs them off-campus in the internship program related to their education.
