Russia Visa Process from Pakistan- Basic Overview

Unlike other European countries, the Russian student visa process is very smooth & easy. Students can begin their visa application once they’ve been admitted to any Russian university, up to 45 days before their planned arrival to Russia. Here you can find out the Russian study visa process for Pakistani students planning to study in Russia.
STEP 1: OBTAINING AN INVITATION LETTER?
To get an Invitation Letter (Visa Support) issued by the Russian Ministry of Interior, we require following documents:
Students can send us mentioned documents through Email, Whatsapp, or by visiting their nearest branch office of Twelve Consultants.
Validity: Once you have received the Invitation Letter, it will be valid for 90 Days Starting from the day of issuance.
STEP 2: How To Get Russian Study VISA From Pakistan?
After getting an invitation letter from 12 Consultants, students should contact the Consular Department of the Embassy of the Russian Federation located in Islamabad.
Students can also contact our local representative office for further information about the Russian Student Visa.
Students should apply to Russian Embassy with the following documents:

Duration of Study Visa for Russia?
Russia issues study visas based on invitations by the Ministry of Interior. These visas can be:
Initially, the Russian Embassy will issue the Student for 90 Days with the option to extend the visa according to the duration of your degree program. During this period, you can stay in Russia or leave & return back. Upon the expiration of your visa, you can again extend it or convert it into a Work Permit after the completion of your degree.
Note: If you stay in Russia with an expired visa, you risk a fine of between 150-300 US$ and possibly a 5-year ban on crossing Russian borders in the future.
STEP 3: ARRIVAL
After obtaining a study visa from the Russian Embassy, students should reserve flight tickets according to their travel plans. Students should contact us about preferable airports & cheap airlines.
One of the University’s representatives will welcome the student at the airport. In case the student will not inform us about his/her arrival, he/she will be deported back to the homeland by the Immigration Authorities of Russia.
STEP 4: UNIVERSITY REGISTRATION & START OF CLASSES
After Arrival in Russia, the student should submit the full package of documents and first-year expenses as written on the Admission Confirmation Letter. Our International Office staff will complete all the formalities so that you could start your classes in 4-5 working days. International Office will also extend the visa from Home Office.
Can Students Work In Russia While Studying?
Yes, Russia allows international students to do part-time jobs while they are studying at university. In some particular cases, students need to acquire a work permit from the Federal Migration Service (FMS).
Note: Students don’t need any work permit if they are working during the holidays or at their university/college.
How to Get a Work Permit In Russia?
There is a certain requirement to get a work permit from Federal Migration Service.
- You must be a full-time student at a state-accredited university
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- The work permit will allow you to work only in the profession described in the permit.
- The work permit will allow you to work only in the city or region of your University.
Cost of a Work Permit: Students with a valid Russian study visa can get a work permit for 80 US$ approx.
In How Many Days You Can Get a Work Permit? It normally takes about 10 working days to get a work permit from the regional Federal Migration Service.
